The Winstub, the essence of Alsace

The Winstub is an absolute Alsatian institution – it’s a place where people gather around a table for a glass of wine or a dish of local food. It’s the warmest and friendliest place imaginable.
The Winstub de l’Ile and its typically affable and rustic interior takes you straight into the atmosphere of the best Alsatian auberges, with its woodwork, chequered tablecloths, carved chairs, barrels, stained-glass windows and large tables.
And when the warm weather comes, there’s a marvellous view from the terrace onto the wooded banks of the river.
During busy periods, your meal can take place in a cozy lounge with a bourgeois atmosphere.

A chef passionate about his region

Yannick Mattern is a chef and he’s Alsatian. He adores sharing his knowledge and all the delights of Alsatian cuisine. His cooking is inspired by the region and by the seasons and is carefully crafted to let the flavours shine. It’s the same generosity and warmth that you find all over Alsace. Yannick works with people who are just as passionate as he is – local producers with whom he shares a singular attachment to the excellence of Alsatian produce.

The à la carte menu leans to traditional cuisine and features the iconic food of Alsace, such as snails, foie gras, pike-perch, pike, trout, choucroute, chicken, munster cheese, plums, rhubarb, strawberries and asparagus.
