September 2022
Autumn is a marvellous time to explore Strasbourg and its region, with the splendour of its forests, the warm light and the mild temperatures. Enjoy the pleasures of an Indian summer in Alsace!
The magnificence of the countryside
It’s in autumn that Alsace’s forests and vineyards reveal their true splendour, in a spectacular red and gold-tinged display that makes walking such a pleasure here. You can also take your car or bike and go along the wine route, the foothills of the Vosges mountains or the flatlands of the Rhine Valley.
Grape picking and tasting
Experience a day as a grape-picker enjoying a couple of hours plucking the grapes in the vineyards, an explanation of how wine is made and, of course, the chance to taste the producer’s range of wines.
Exploring Strasbourg’s architectural heritage
In addition to its Cathedral, its iconic city centre and its European institutions, the Alsatian capital also offers a wide variety of museums, ranging from contemporary art to history and science and featuring many fascinating exhibitions.
All around the region, you’ll also find museums specialising in Alsatian food and drink, showcasing the pleasures and history of, for example, beer, wine, gingerbread, chocolate and choucroute.

Relax and let go
Chill out in the Château de l’Ile’s wellness centre, featuring an indoor heated pool and jacuzzi looking out onto the forest. Sweat away your cares in our sauna and steam bath and even treat yourself to a relaxing bodycare treatment.
A stay for all the family
We love children in the Château de l’Ile and we take special care to make sure they enjoy their time with us. If they’re aged under 12, we’ll put an extra bed in the parents’ bedroom and offer them breakfast, at no extra charge. It’s a great way for all the family to get away together and enjoy Strasbourg and its region!
While you’re in the hotel, you’ll be able to enjoy great food in our restaurant.
